Senior VDC Manager

About the role

The PENTA Building Group seeks a Senior VDC Manager to lead VDC delivery across a regional portfolio of commercial construction projects in Las Vegas, NV and Phoenix, AZ. The role sets execution standards for VDC workflows, leads a regional team of VDC professionals, and serves as the primary VDC leader for project teams and clients, translating VDC strategy into field‑relevant results.

Responsibilities

• Pursuit – Develop VDC content for pursuits (VDC narratives, construction approach, visualization strategies, logistics concepts) with preconstruction and marketing; represent VDC in owner interviews and shortlist presentations; communicate VDC scope, approach, and value to clients; define VDC scope and budget for pursuit projects; build/maintain relationships with clients, design partners, and trade contractors.
• Preconstruction – Own the VDC Management Plan for all regional projects from award through completion; define model coordination process (subcontractor model requirements, meeting cadence, issue tracking, deliverable schedule); lead design review and constructability analysis; coordinate with preconstruction on quantity tracking and cost support; assign and direct VDC Engineers on preconstruction deliverables; direct existing conditions documentation (reality capture, as‑built review, site verification).
• Construction – Lead VDC delivery across active workflows (visualization, model coordination, design review, reality capture, field technology); lead model coordination meetings, manage issue logs and trade partner commitments; represent VDC in project‑level conversations with executives, superintendents, PMs, subcontractors, design teams; lead regional VDC team (set expectations, review output, develop members); manage regional VDC staffing and resource allocation; direct reality capture operations (laser scanning, aerial drones); support RFI resolution using model and coordination data.
• Closeout – Lead VDC closeout process (as‑built model documentation, final reality capture, deliverable handover to owner/facilities); lead VDC lessons learned reviews and contribute findings to department‑wide standards improvement.
• VDC Initiatives – Lead VDC learning and development (contribute to training content, deliver sessions, build team capacity); drive operational excellence by identifying innovative technology solutions and improving VDC workflows; advance VDC marketing and branding by communicating value and capabilities through pursuit content, project narratives, client‑facing materials.
