About the role

This position will assist the Value Engineering/Risk Director in developing strategic visions and tactical plans, participate in the hiring process, manage workshare and project assignments, and provide direct project support in leading select VE workshops, cost and schedule risk management workshops, or other related assignments nationwide. The role involves collaborating with Business Groups, Market Sectors, and Business Classes to support client project needs in a highly collaborative environment.

You will participate in business development activities, including supporting or developing project proposals, staffing assignments, identifying sub-consultants, and other duties as necessary. Involvement in all phases of project development is expected. This position requires travel to support select project pursuits and delivery nationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate value engineering (VE) workshops for major infrastructure projects.
  • Lead cost and schedule risk analysis (CSRA) workshops for major infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and manage strategic marketing programs and client relationships with public agencies or private entities.
  • Support business development by preparing project proposals, staffing assignments, and identifying sub-consultants.
  • Collaborate with client managers, technical directors, business group directors, and operations staff.
  • Travel domestically up to 75% of the time to support project pursuits and delivery.

Requirements

  • Certified Value Specialist (CVS) and six-plus years leading VE workshops for major infrastructure projects or Professional Engineering (PE) license and six-plus years leading CSRA workshops for major infrastructure projects.
  • Track record of maintaining client relationships with public agencies or private entities.
  • Experience in developing and managing strategic marketing programs and a wide range of client relationships.
  • Experience with industry associations to maintain a visible profile in transportation and other key markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with client managers, technical directors, business group directors, and operations staff.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess a driver’s license and U.S. passport, or the ability to acquire one.
  • Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and active participation in its employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering registration (PE).
  • Certified Value Specialist (CVS) with a minimum of 5 years participating (VE Team Member, VE Assistant, or VE Facilitator) on VE workshops for major infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum of five (5) years leading cost and schedule risk analysis (CSRA) workshops and/or value engineering services for major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs and client relationships.
  • Visible profile in transportation and other key markets through industry associations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% of the time.

Location and Travel

The geographic location of this position is non-specific, though a location with significant HDR presence and connection to an HDR office is preferred. The average travel requirement is estimated at 50%, with monthly variations between 25% and 75%.

The expected compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location:
