Position Overview
Zynga is looking for a Senior UX Designer to work on our new mobile game. This is a unique opportunity to be the primary architect of the player experience and collaborate directly with Project Leads to define, shape, and execute a groundbreaking XD vision from the ground up, allowing you to significantly influence the design direction.
What You’ll Do
- UX Strategy & Logic: Define complex user flows, information architecture, and interaction models that prioritize player engagement and minimize cognitive load.
- Rapid Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes to test and validate features, mechanics, and "fun" before they move into full production.
- Player-Centric Validation: Plan user testing, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data to proactively iterate on design logic.
- Proactive Problem Definition: You don’t wait for a ticket. You proactively audit the game to identify friction points and high-value opportunities. You will rigorously define these challenges and drive solutions that balance player delight, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Architect the Figma Ecosystem: Own the creation and evolution of our Design System. You will build and maintain a scalable library of components using advanced Figma features to ensure studio-wide efficiency and visual consistency.
- End-to-End Feature Ownership: Take full accountability for the UX quality of assigned feature pods. You will lead the design process from initial discovery and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and post-launch iteration.
- Strategic Leadership: Champion UX excellence across the studio. You will participate in product reviews, lead critiques, and mentor junior UI/UX staff to level up the team's collective craft
What You Bring
- Experience: 4+ years in game development specializing in UX. You have a deep understanding that game UX is about "juice" and engagement, not just task completion.
- User Psychology: A deep understanding of mental models, player motivations, and the "why" behind player behavior.
- Communication & Influence: The ability to articulate complex design logic to stakeholders and build consensus among potentially opposing perspectives.
- Figma Mastery: You are a "Design System Master" proficient in advanced Figma features (Variables/Tokens, Auto Layout, Component Properties).
- Keen Eye & Design Sense: You possess an exceptional aesthetic sensibility. You are highly detail-oriented, ensuring every transition, layout, and interaction meets a world-class standard of quality
- High Autonomy: A proactive self-starter who thrives in ambiguity. You can prioritize your own tasks and work efficiently with minimal oversight.
- True Gamer’s Passion: You have a deep, personal passion for games and a sophisticated understanding of player motivations. You are an active player who can deconstruct game mechanics and translate them into intuitive UX flows.
- Digital Hygiene: A commitment to organized files, clear naming conventions, and proactive documentation.
