This is a senior-level individual contributor role that works directly with Product and Engineering to keep design decisions grounded, the design system current, and the craft bar high. The position is remote within the US.
Responsibilities
- Design System Ownership: Create and maintain reusable components, templates, and standards that let every team ship faster while maintaining brand and UX consistency.
- UX Design Ownership: Translate business and customer needs into intuitive frameworks and end-to-end experiences across products, platforms, and touchpoints.
- Design Quality Ownership: Define and uphold accessibility, usability, and craft standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) to protect the business from legal and reputational risk.
- Prototyping & Validation: Own the prototyping and validation loop in Figma, de-risking decisions before engineering investment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present design rationale to cross-functional partners and leadership, defending decisions under pressure.
- Delivery Accountability: Deliver build-ready assets on time against sprint commitments and flag risks early to Product and Engineering.
- Usability Outcomes: Own usability KPIs, including task/process completion rate and reduction in abandonment rate.
- Design System Health: Track adoption rate, component reuse vs. new creation ratio, and design-to-build handoff time to prioritize system investment.
- Engineering Collaboration: Partner with Engineering to reduce UX/UI-related rework through tighter handoffs and proactive design QA.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of UX/product design experience, including website, app, and email, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process from discovery through polished UI.
- Experience building or maintaining a design system in a product organization; expert-level fluency in Figma and modern design/prototyping tools.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum product development and how design fits into that cadence.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and inclusive design practices; comfortable using usability, adoption, and delivery data to inform design decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing for enterprise environments and business-facing tools.
- Experience with complex, data-dense, or workflow-heavy B2B interfaces.
- Experience building design tokens or a component library used across multiple codebases or platforms.
- Background partnering with compliance, legal, or brand stakeholders on design and accessibility standards.
- Experience mentoring designers or setting craft standards within a design team.
