Senior Utility Heavy Equipment Operator
About the role
This position involves operating various types of equipment and heavy machinery, maintaining and repairing water and / or wastewater systems, answering questions and providing information to the public, preparing reports, assisting in maintaining supplies and materials, supervising maintenance workers, and performing maintenance support duties.
Responsibilities

- Preparing a variety of reports
- Assisting in maintaining stock of supplies and materials
- Supervising one or more maintenance workers in the absence of the crew leader
- Performing maintenance support duties necessary to the continued efficient operation of the department
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Two years water and wastewater maintenance or related experience
- A Class A CDL Texas driver’s license
- A current state-mandated TCEQ Class C Water and Collection II Wastewater licenses
- The ability to operate a backhoe and other heavy equipment
- Knowledge of water boring equipment, pneumatic missiles and other tools / equipment used in the repair and maintenance of water and wastewater mains
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED and two years water and wastewater maintenance or related experience are required. A Class A CDL Texas driver’s license and a current state-mandated TCEQ Class C Water and Collection II Wastewater licenses are also required. Must have the ability to operate a backhoe and other heavy equipment and have knowledge of water boring equipment, pneumatic missiles and other tools / equipment used in the repair and maintenance of water and wastewater mains.

PAY GRADE GG15 / FULL PAY RANGE $23.10 - $32.56 PER HOUR
Schedule
Day, evening or night shift may be available. Will work in the stand-by repair crew rotation as required.
