About the role

As a Senior Universal Banker at Summit Credit Union's Thierer branch, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping financial journeys, fostering positive change, and growing your career in an innovative, inclusive, and community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial conversations with members to help them navigate everyday banking, major life decisions, and long-term goals.
  • Build relationships that create lifelong members through trust, empathy, and outstanding service.
  • Provide expert support on accounts, loans, digital banking tools, and personalized financial solutions.
  • Mentor and support Universal Bankers, helping elevate the member experience and team performance.
  • Solve problems creatively, from helping a member improve their credit to guiding them through a big purchase or budget.
  • Drive branch success through sales, service excellence, and smart decision-making.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of sales or customer service experience (or related higher education).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an NMLS number.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that reflect Summit’s positive, member-focused culture.
  • Adaptability and sound judgment to handle unique daily challenges within established guidelines.
  • Active listening skills and a commitment to fully understanding and resolving member needs.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate proactively with members and non-members.
  • High attention to detail, with consistent follow-up and follow-through.
  • Comfort using the Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools.
  • Basic math skills and readiness to learn more complex financial concepts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an NMLS number.

Pay

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Saturday hours required.

Additional Information

  • Physical Demands: Continuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching above and below shoulder level, lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting.
  • Equipment Used: Computer terminal/PC, calculator, printer/copiers, telephone.
