Senior Underwriter, Team Lead - Cyber

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our Cyber – Middle Markets underwriting team, one of our rapidly growing and dynamic segments within the Cyber underwriting unit. The individual will be responsible for servicing a renewal book, producing new business, and building new distribution channels through exceptional underwriting practices throughout North America.
Responsibilities
- As Team Lead, serve as part of the US Cyber Leadership team and participate in weekly leadership calls, jointly responsible for reporting on Middle Market financial performance, managing and implementing process improvements, and communicating results back to the wider team.
- Serve as the point lead for the West and Central markets, managing regional broker relationships at a high level and mentoring junior underwriters while providing underwriting approvals in both regions.
- Handle a book of new and renewal Tech and Cyber business while fulfilling Team Lead responsibilities.
- Build and execute a business plan to expand the Cyber Central region’s existing middle markets portfolio, aligning within the overall Cyber business growth strategy.
- Assist in and lead others in achieving profitable premium and rate goals, working with actuarial and claims to deliver results consistent with the financial plan.
- Collaborate across business units and functions to leverage existing resources to underwrite, manage, and service a cyber and technology renewal book and produce new business in accordance with Cyber underwriting unit goals.
- Exercise discretion and self-supported judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk.
- Participate in roundtable discussions on risk assessment.
- Negotiate with producers within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards to achieve profit objectives.
- Build and enhance relationships with assigned brokers and clients to identify and establish new distribution relationships.
- Maintain expertise with the products, services, priorities, and target markets to enable clients to uncover hidden cyber risks.
- Promote the company's expertise by participating in industry conferences and events while regularly conducting and taking leadership roles in client and broker meetings to educate on evolving cyber risk.
- Maintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements.
You will report to the Head of Middle Markets, Cyber.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- A moderate to extensive amount of experience within Cyber and Technology underwriting or Underwriting experience in another area of expertise with a robust conceptual comprehension of data security, privacy, cyber, and information risk.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 15% of the time.

Pay
The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 107,600 – 209,100. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience, and location.
