Senior Underwriter, Reinsurance Property Facultative
About the role
For assigned line(s) of business, the Property Facultative Underwriter will, under direction of assigned manager and in accordance with established procedures:
- Underwrite and maintain/service profitable new and renewal business exercising self-supported judgment based on comprehensive knowledge of policy form terms and conditions and coverage intent.
- Increase market share, visibility, and solidify position as a leader in the marketplace by participating in marketing activities.
- Maximize the efficiency of the group, maintain morale, and provide quality service to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and produce individual risk accounts with specific annual production/premium goals.
- Maintain client/broker contacts and relationships.
- Contribute to the individual risk audit process.
- Manage individual risk T&E expenditures in coordination with Territory Manager.
- Develop and contribute to an annual personal P&D plan with Property Fac leadership.
- Contribute to division training and new hire onboarding.
- Underwrite terms, conditions, and pricing for new and renewal property facultative business by analyzing account information.
- Achieve consistent satisfactory internal/external audit results by adhering to underwriting, regulatory, and rating guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with underwriting, actuarial, legal, service departments, and claims staff to ensure profitability.
- Maintain and service a book of business by analyzing endorsement requests, participating in large loss meetings, audits, and providing top-quality customer service.
- Participate in strategic planning and business development activities, including identifying key brokers and markets, marketing to external brokers and cedants, and completing action plans.
- Work effectively in a team setting, contributing to high-performance team goals and improving efficiency.
You will report to the Property Facultative Individual Risk Territory Manager.
Requirements
- Moderate experience in the insurance industry, with an emphasis on commercial property insurance/reinsurance.
- Understanding of policy rating and proficiency in policy rating systems.
- Familiarity with policy and contract wording.
- Strong math aptitude.
- Outstanding PC skills.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, with demonstrated organizational skills and flexibility.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to apply creative, analytical, and mathematical skills to problem-solving.
- Self-directed with excellent customer focus, responsiveness, and multitasking abilities.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 107,600–209,100. Actual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and location.
