Senior Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability, quality, and profitability of new and existing business based on company underwriting guidelines and objectives.
• Develop insurance proposals, process binders, approve endorsements, and obtain required underwriting approvals where needed.
• Ensure underwriting and service standards are met on assigned accounts.
• Travel to conduct broker marketing meetings and attend industry events as determined by management.
• Perform related duties as required under Underwriting Guidelines, including report preparation, presentations, and special projects to assist the excess liability team.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members to broaden product‑line knowledge and technical pricing expertise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
• 7+ years of primary trucking liability and/or excess underwriting experience preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Working knowledge of standard insurance concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available now or in the future.
