Job Summary

Reporting to the Trial Consulting Manager, the Senior Trial Consultant is a billable professional who partners with clients and internal teams to conceptualize, develop, and deliver compelling visual presentations that communicate complex case themes and evidence with clarity and impact.

Requirements

  • Case and Project Leadership
    • Lead small- to medium-sized litigation matters and designated workstreams on large-scale cases from planning through completion, managing timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables
    • Develop effective systems for tracking case progress, deadlines, budgets, and workflow across teams
    • Anticipate competing priorities, identify risks or quality concerns, and proactively implement solutions
    • Maintain a strong understanding of case strategy, relevant law, venue, key players, and evolving client needs
  • Client Management
    • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to clients, providing recommendations and solutions throughout the engagement
    • Lead and participate in client meetings, including war-room sessions, to establish strategy, monitor progress and quality, and resolve issues
    • Maintain proactive, responsive communication with clients, case teams, vendors, and other stakeholders
    • Build and strengthen client relationships while identifying opportunities to support future needs
  • Budget & Resource Management
    • Develop and manage project budgets, staffing plans, timelines, and resource allocations based on client and case requirements
    • Monitor project performance against budget and proactively address scope changes, resource constraints, and other financial considerations
    • Provide recommendations to optimize time, resources, and budget while maintaining cost transparency
    • Oversee billing, travel, and other project-related financial requirements as needed
  • Trial Consulting & Visual Strategy
    • Apply advanced knowledge of trial strategy, litigation procedures, and trial consulting to provide strategic guidance and recommendations
    • Collaborate with clients and case teams to distill complex issues, evidence, and case themes into compelling visual strategies
    • Direct the development of visual presentations in collaboration with designers, animators, medical illustrators, contractors, and other specialists
    • Ensure work product meets IMS quality, style, and production standards
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and internal and external resources to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget
    • Collaborate across Trial Consulting, Jury Consulting, Trial Presentation, Expert Witness, and Litigation Consulting teams on complex, multi-service matters
    • Provide clear direction, foster collaboration, and ensure team members and vendors are aligned with project objectives and quality standards
    • Oversee project activities throughout the engagement lifecycle, from planning and administration through on-site support and closeout
  • Business Development & Professional Growth
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships that support repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships
    • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and introduce complementary IMS services
    • Contribute to business development initiatives, including pitches, proposals, client outreach, and presentations
    • Participate in process improvement, innovation, mentorship, and professional development initiatives
    • Maintain compliance with IMS policies and procedures and uphold professional and quality standards

    Skills & Experience

    • 8+ years of experience managing multiple complex, deadline-driven projects
    • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Presentation/Graphics Consultant, Trial Consultant, Litigation Consultant, or in a related field
    • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
    • Strong ability to understand, synthesize, and simplify complex concepts and information
    • Exceptional organizational, project management, and time-management skills with a high degree of attention to detail
    • Prominent ability to manage multiple complex, deadline-driven projects while balancing competing priorities
    • Strong client-service orientation with the ability to establish credibility and build trusted relationships with senior-level clients
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment and accountability
    • Ability to provide clear direction, collaborate effectively, and contribute positively to a team environment
    • Strong creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues proactively and develop effective solutions
    • Ability to adapt quickly to new assignments, changing priorities, trial schedules, and client requirements
    • Ability and willingness to integrate into client project teams for varying and extended periods
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint
    • Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and the development of more efficient and effective business processes
    • Advanced understanding of trial strategy, litigation procedures, and the trial consulting process
    • Specialized knowledge and experience in one or more areas of litigation

    Education & Technical Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, skills, and relevant professional experience
    • Demonstrated success managing projects with competing deadlines, evolving priorities, and high client expectations
    • Advanced project and time-management capabilities, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on PowerPoint
    • Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize a broad range of department-specific tools, technologies, resources, and software

    LOCATION

    This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones
    25% travel for client meetings and/or on-site trial support
