About the role
The Smart Mobility Practice at David Evans and Associates is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to join our dynamic team in Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, or Olympia, WA.
Responsibilities
- Manage planning studies of varying degrees including scope, schedule, quality, and financial management
- Provide technical direction and task leadership for transportation projects
- Collaborate with Smart Mobility leaders in other markets and across DEA’s diverse business units to assist with staffing to fulfill project and business development opportunities
- Lead project teams and manage projects in the transportation planning field
- Train others in fundamentals of transportation planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, transportation engineering, urban design, or closely related field
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with transportation planning and engineering studies
- Recent and relevant transportation project or transportation plan development experience in the Puget Sound Region
- Collaborative team player who communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Takes ownership and shows initiative in delivering high-quality work
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in urban or regional planning, transportation engineering, urban design, or closely related field preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
- Experience leading project teams and managing projects in the transportation planning field
- Experience training others in fundamentals of transportation planning

Potential salary range: $145,000 - $170,000
