Senior Transportation Engineer
About the role
STV currently has an opening for a Senior Transportation Engineer in any of our Kentucky locations (Glasgow, Louisville, Lexington, and Owensboro). You will serve as an integral component of the STV team, collaborating with staff to deliver various engineering services. The position reports to the Transportation Engineering Director and assists in maintaining project schedules, resource allocation, and ensuring project deliverables are developed within the allocated budget. You will provide leadership, manage multidisciplinary coordination, and supervise/mentor junior staff.
Project responsibilities may include managing transportation studies and infrastructure design projects, coordinating across internal teams and subconsultants, supporting client communication, and ensuring quality deliverables across all phases of work. You will align staff efforts with client goals, maintain project documentation, and identify opportunities for process improvement and project efficiencies.
There is growth potential in this role, with a variety of projects including highway and interchange design, roadway widenings, intersection improvements (including innovative intersections), and multimodal improvements across STV’s South Region. Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior engineer to ensure project delivery for KYTC projects, various Departments of Transportation, Counties, Municipalities, and other private development entities.
- Coordinate with the design team to develop quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.
- Provide QA/QC for various engineering deliverables.
- Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports, and preparing final bid packages.
- Establish working relationships and interface with clients and project managers.
- Train and direct staff.
- Assist with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
- Provide assistance in RFP responses and supply input on strategic planning in pursuit of future projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.
- Kentucky Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Strong background working with KYTC and local Kentucky municipalities is desired.
Pay
Compensation range: $140,810.99 – $160,926.84.
