Senior Transportation Engineer

About the role

We'll count on you to:

• Serve in the lead technical role of transportation projects through all phases of development
• Perform quality assurance and control reviews on transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems
• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity
• Mentor and train staff in performance of engineering and other technical work
• Perform project management duties as needed, and support Project Managers
• Serve as a client main point of contact and support client service for key clients in the area
• Supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
• Support projects and clients for other business groups as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• MSCE, or twenty plus years’ experience
• Experience with MicroStation and Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with Bently Design applications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams
• Project management skills desirable
• Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
• Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
