Senior Transportation Engineer
Job Description and Duties
The Senior Transportation Engineer will serve as the Engineering Technical Lead for the Seismic Engineering unit. This role requires extensive knowledge of Seismic design and construction procedures and practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical oversight for the Seismic Engineering unit to support Design and Construction at the Authority.
- Representing the Authority in meetings with contractors, consultants, and representatives from other agencies.
- Preparing correspondence regarding technical engineering issues.
Working Conditions
Part-time telework is available for California residents. Working conditions include a professional office environment with occasional exposure to hazards such as unguarded machinery, heavy construction equipment, high-voltage electricity, and hazardous materials.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification, including experience in structural, geotechnical, and seismic engineering, and knowledge of Seismic engineering codes and design methods.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in design-build and alternative delivery processes for transportation projects.
- Seismic engineering experience related to transportation design.
- Experience reviewing design criteria or specifications.
- Project management experience in transportation civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Experience providing technical oversight related to State transportation projects.
- Experience with contract management and managing contractors and consultants.
- Experience building and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders.
