Senior Transportation Engineer

About the role

The Transportation Services Department at Barry Isett & Associates (Isett) is currently hiring a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5-15 years' of experience in road/street design and PennDOT approval experience.

This position could be based out of any of our Northeast PA offices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic impact studies
• Perform safety studies and audits
• Design traffic signal retiming and signal design
• Develop traffic-calming designs and school-zone designs
• Design roadways and trail/bikeway designs
• Coordinate right-of-way conveyance
• Analyze existing pavement conditions
• Manage construction projects
• Handle PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permitting (HOP)
• Design railroad crossing layouts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D) or similar engineering software
• Knowledge and experience with Synchro & HCS software
• Technical skills in equipment selection and cost estimating

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-15 years of relevant experience
• Experience with PennDOT approval processes
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Skills

• AutoCAD (Civil 3D) or similar engineering software
• Synchro & HCS Experience
• Technical knowledge and/or previous experience in areas such as equipment selection, and cost estimating
