Senior Transportation Design Engineer

Duties
- Design development of transportation projects on local roadways and state highways
- Preparation of design concepts and reports through the delivery of plans, specifications, estimates (PS&E), construction documents
- Support in construction
- Coordination of team members, interaction with clients, agency staff, other consultants and a variety of disciplines in the production of reports, permits and construction documents
- Supervision and training of less experienced staff
- Management of projects and budgets
Specific Experience
- Experience in the preparation of preliminary design reports, design plans, specifications, quantities, and estimates using Caltrans and local agency standards
- Knowledge of various transportation design standards including but not limited to the Caltrans Highway Design Manual (HDM), Project Development Procedures Manual (PDPM), CT Standard Plans, CA Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CAMUTCD), the AASHTO Greenbook, and other similar guidance standards
- Coordination of environmental and other disciplines for project public outreach
- Exposure to construction activities

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- California registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
- Minimum of nine years of qualifying transportation design engineering with past experience using CAD, Caltrans standards, with progressively developing project management and proposal experience
