About the role
This position is within HDR’s Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) program, focusing on performing construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and/or bridge construction projects. The role may involve leading inspections and managing other inspectors.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Identify discrepancies or conflicts within contract documents
- Enforce contract documents
- Perform inspections and document findings
- Manage other inspectors as needed
- Travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience inspecting transportation projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law
- NCDOT experience preferred
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
