Senior Transmission Line Compliance Analyst

About the role

The primary responsibility of this position is the management of Transmission Line processes and documentation required to support all Xcel Energy regulatory oversight and execution of internal processes of the NERC, FERC or CIP Compliance Programs. This position assists in the development of work management system data elements supporting the operations areas where specific equipment work, and condition assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to ensure that FAC process/map is followed for each Capital Project.
  • Track all project Smart Transmission Line PLS CADD models and make sure ratings are submitted and approved by Project Team and Facility Ratings team.
  • Aid FREs, TREs and Project teams in defining facility boundaries for each project on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure evidence is provided and updated for each project on a continuous basis.
  • Support and improve the Transmission Line Data of CFD (Common format Database), GIS, and SAP.
  • Mentor Smart Transmission Line Model (STLM) resources (Internal, CMT, MPG/EPC).
  • Maintain and update Facility ratings processes and guides, and collaborate with the STED Design Process Committee to update STLM processes and guides.
  • Oversee STLM issues tracking/ ticketing.
  • Ensure CFD, GIS, and SAP systems are in sync.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure the quality of FAC tools, including Smart Transmission Line Model tool, SAP, and Subtran Portal (our ratings tool).
  • Support Project teams with model management challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Degree in Electronic Sciences and 8 plus years' experience with Transmission Line data modeling may substitute for the engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years utility experience, business/data analytics and compliance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise the work of compliance team resources when required and excel in a team environment.
  • Must possess problem-solving skills and have a broad knowledge relating to technical data management and analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Transmission Line Equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with transmission line data modeling.
  • Utility experience, business/data analytics, and compliance experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and knowledge of technical data management and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Transmission Line Equipment.

Pay

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $84,900.00 to $120,566.66 per year.

Schedule

This position is full-time.
