The Senior Engineer

The Senior Engineer position is a senior-level engineering position that applies advanced engineering and design principles to perform tasks using manual or computer-aided programs. Designs may include civil, electrical, or mechanical aspects of transmission and distribution design. This position will also require advanced knowledge of transmission and distribution materials and how design packages are checked and reviewed.

Responsibilities

• Leading or collaborating with the Design Team to ensure assigned tasks are completed on time under aggressive project schedules.
• Applying advanced engineering principles to produce accurate and precise calculations and design deliverables.
• Knowledgeable of transmission and distribution materials associated with basic, intermediate, and complex project designs.
• Utilizing design software to create designs that are compliant with all codes and client standards.
• Performing material selection and takeoffs for basic, intermediate, and complex project designs.
• Reviewing and understanding project specifications, requirements, and standards.
• Coodinating with other team members to ensure design intent is transferred to the design drawings.
• Establishing, promoting, and assuring quality on all projects and work performed.
• Providing quality workmanship for all projects and work performed.
• Promoting and supporting a safety culture within group and demonstrates safe work practices into designs.
• May provide technical oversight on basic and intermediate project tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching Engineers and Engineering Associates as needed.

Qualifications

• Four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible transmission experience required.
• Experience with renewable energy projects is required.
• Professional Engineer license required with the ability to obtain multi-state licensure.
