About the role
The Senior Traffic Engineer / Project Manager is responsible for managing and implementing traffic engineering projects in Overland Park, KS and Kansas City, MO. This position requires a deep understanding of traffic engineering principles and the ability to manage complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee traffic engineering projects from conception to completion
- Collaborate with local government agencies and stakeholders to ensure project compliance and success
- Develop and implement traffic management plans to improve safety and efficiency on roadways
- Conduct traffic studies and analyses to inform project design and implementation
- Prepare and present project reports and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Ensure all projects adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in traffic engineering and project management
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and traffic engineering software
Qualifications
- Experience with traffic signal design and intersection improvements
- Knowledge of transportation planning and land use policies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
