About the Role

LJB Inc. is a forward-thinking firm specializing in civil and structural engineering, with additional expertise in geospatial, safety, and environmental services. Founded in 1966, we have delivered successful projects in all 50 states and several countries. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice in one of our Ohio offices (Dayton, Cleveland, or Columbus).

Responsibilities

• Technical engineering responsibilities may include: Traffic impact studies, Traffic operations analyses, Safety studies, Signal system design, Signal timing plans, Maintenance of traffic, Pavement markings and signage, Highway lighting design, Corridor studies.
• Project/task and client management.
• Maintain client relationships.
• Occasionally visit work sites, monitoring project progress and reporting findings.
• Ability to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a work site.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• P.E. license.
• 7 to 15 years’ experience.
• Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, TransModeler, VISSIM, AutoCAD/MicroStation/Geopak/Open Roads Designer and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual.

Qualifications

• PTOE license.
• Experience with Travel Demand Modeling Software (TransCAD, CUBE), ArcGIS, SignCAD.
• Experience with ODOT and/or OH municipalities.

• Ability to work in a team setting collaboratively with a group of traffic, transportation, and site/civil engineers.
• Ability to mentor, direct activities and supervise work of other engineers.
• Ability to identify project issues and facilitate resolution.
• Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations.

Pay

Salary Range: $114,000 - $140,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
