Senior TPM - Embedded Software, Amazon Leo
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable broadband connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From households to small businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve communities and organizations operating in places without dependable internet access.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the embedded software for the Leo direct-to-device (DTD) payload system. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence how quickly and reliably we deploy the DTD constellation and enable service to our customers.
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will own the end-to-end technical program strategy for DTD payload embedded software, from architecture and design through verification and deployment. You will lead technical program management of embedded software for the Leo DTD satellite payload, ensuring our Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) solutions perform flawlessly in real-world environments.
Responsibilities
- Drive programs from early architecture and design through integration and qualification testing, ensuring critical systems meet performance, reliability, and schedule requirements.
- Develop mechanisms and processes connecting Leo engineering and business teams, software vendors, and partners to build the Leo NTN solution.
- Serve as the central program leader across cross-functional teams—business development, communication systems, software engineering, systems integration and test, manufacturing, and production operations—to deliver payload software for the Leo NTN solution.
- Align teams across organizations, remove obstacles, and ensure complex technical programs move forward with speed, clarity, and accountability.
- Develop and maintain program plans tracking major milestones across feature development, design reviews, integration activities, qualification testing, and end-to-end network readiness.
- Proactively identify technical and programmatic risks, build mitigation strategies, and communicate clear status updates to engineering leaders and stakeholders.
- Help transition from early development of DTD payload software to large-scale DTD solution supported by the Leo DTD constellation, device ecosystem, and core networks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, manufacturing and production operations, software vendors, and test equipment vendors to scale the production of DTD satellites, including managing performance, reliability, and test automation of payload embedded software.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
- Experience leading and interacting with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with embedded software development and hardware-software integration.

- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
- Hands-on experience with real-time embedded software development, integration, and verification.
