About 3D Architech 3D Architech is pioneering next-generation metal manufacturing infrastructures that push the boundaries of design at the unprecedented scale – 10 micron or lower. Our proprietary gel‑enabled metal manufacturing platform enables geometries, thermal performance, and materials combinations that are not achievable with conventional additive or subtractive processes. ‍ Our operation across the USA, Japan, and Taiwan, bridging advanced materials R&D with scalable manufacturing for thermal management applications. As we expand our R&D operations in the US, we’re seeking talented engineers to drive our manufacturing technology and the development of application-specific products for cooling devices. ‍ Role Overview In this role, you will lead the development of advanced cooling devices using our proprietary gel-enabled metal manufacturing technology. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to address complex technical challenges and scale up our innovative solutions from R&D to manufacturing. ‍ Key Responsibilities Lead the design and evaluation of advanced cooling devices that exploit three‑dimensionally engineered metal architectures with fine geometric control at 10 micron scaleIdentify technical challenges from first-principles approach and develop hypothesis-driven solutions that integrate thermal modeling, calculations, and experimental validationCollaborate with external partners and establish strategic alliances to align technical requirements, translate application needs into product designs, and support data-driven technical proposals and reviewsEstablish thermal evaluation frameworks, including experimental setups and correlated simulation models to ensure consistency between design intent, testing, and resultsDrive cross-functional technical discussions and mentoring, working with other thermal engineers and materials engineers to strengthen evaluation methodologies, design guidelines, and internal technical standardsStay abreast of emerging trends in advanced materials, manufacturing, thermal engineering, and data centers ‍ Required Qualifications Proven experience leading R&D teams in thermal engineering, fluid mechanics, product development, or closely related fields.Demonstrated ability to drive technology development in environments with high uncertainty and ambitious timelinesStrong problem-solving skills with a first-principles approachHands‑on strength in at least one of the following areas is required: (1) thermal evaluation and measurement systems including experimental setup and data interpretation, (2) modeling and numerical simulation for thermal and fluid systemswith experience in data processing model verification and validation, or (3) product development of cooling or thermal management hardwareMaster’s or Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related disciplineProficiency in standard PC tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for technical analysis, documentation, and communication ‍ Preferred Qualifications Experience designing and evaluating high heat‑flux cooling technologies, including cold plates, liquid cooling systems, and two‑phase cooling approachesStrong experience driving final design decisions efficiently using quantitative engineering approaches such as Design of Experiment (DoE) and optimization methods, with the ability to balance thermal performance and pressure dropHands‑on experience with CFD tools such as SolidWorks Flow Simulation, ANSYS (Fluent, Icepak, CFX), COMSOL, OpenFOAM, or an equivalent technical skillsetExperience handling complex geometries, including lattice or porous structures, with skills in parametric or mathematical geometry definition using tools such as SolidWorks, nTop (nTopology), or similar softwareExperience managing and leveraging large volumes of simulation results to accelerate subsequent design iterations and enable data‑driven thermal or cooling design decisionsExperience in customer‑facing technical roles Work Schedule And Compensation Working Hours: Standard business hours with flexibility available.Occasional domestic and international travel Benefits Medical and dental insurance coveragePaid leave, maternity/paternity leave, and caregiving leave ‍ Application Process Interested candidates should complete the application form or send their resume or CV to: applications@3d-architech.com Describe the position name in a subject
