Senior Telecommunications Superintendent

As a Senior Superintendent, you will oversee day-to-day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance. You will act as an expert, anticipating client needs, providing solutions, and mentoring colleagues on large-scale fiber installation projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
• Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations
• Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules
• Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects
• Maintain working knowledge of reporting and tracking financial aspects of the project
• Participate in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations
• Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
• Knowledge of aerial and underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline (an asset)
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees and sub-contractors
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to anticipate and address issues
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Working Conditions

• Able to meet physical requirements: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights
• Work in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)
• Site-based position requiring travel to various Ledcor offices and project sites
