About the role

As a Senior Superintendent, you will oversee day-to-day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance for large-scale long-haul fiber installation projects. You will anticipate client needs, provide solutions, and mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
  • Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
  • Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules.
  • Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
  • Maintain working knowledge of reporting and tracking financial aspects of the project.
  • Participate in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations.
  • Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent.
  • Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to directly supervise craft employees and sub-contractors.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to anticipate and address issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

Working Conditions

  • Able to meet physical requirements: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working at heights.
  • Work in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.).
  • Site-based position requiring travel to various Ledcor offices and project sites across multiple states.
