Description

• Is an expert MRI Technologist and may serve as a Preceptor in the skills to perform diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists.
• Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor, in the utilization of correct scan protocols while optimizing image quality, decreasing scan length and repeat procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection.
• May serve as a Preceptor to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
• May serve as a Preceptor in adhering to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
• Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
• May serve as a Preceptor in troubleshooting and reporting malfunctioning equipment.
• Assists with service recovery, ensuring proactive communication with patients and families.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

  Required Education

  Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma

  Required Work Experience

  • Direct - 6 years of experience

  Required Certifications

  • 1 of the following license or registry is required -
  • - ARRT – MRI Specialist
  • - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), MRI Technician Certification
  • - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
