The Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, leads the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, manages refrigeration units, and coordinates field teams to optimize system performance. The position requires effective documentation, vendor coordination, and adherence to regulatory protocols. What you'll do
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
- Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial and industrial equipment.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
- Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
- Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
- Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
- 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
- Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
- Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
- Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s of applied science A/C and refrigeration.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Prior work experience with Glycol and C02 systems.
