About the role

Join a high-impact technology initiative driving enterprise data engineering and AI innovation within a large public sector environment. We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional projects focused on data platforms, cloud technologies, analytics, and AI adoption.

This hybrid opportunity is based in Austin, TX, with onsite collaboration required two days per week, offering the chance to contribute to large-scale digital transformation efforts that deliver meaningful business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of enterprise technology projects focused on data engineering, analytics, cloud, and AI initiatives.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, engineering, data, and AI stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, status reports, risk logs, and executive communications.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resource planning, and financial reporting.
  • Track project deliverables and ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Support platform modernization, data pipeline initiatives, and AI adoption programs.
  • Facilitate collaboration between business leaders, developers, analysts, architects, and vendors.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and drive issue resolution.
  • Produce project documentation including charters, schedules, lessons learned, and implementation plans.
  • Present project updates to technical and executive leadership.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience leading enterprise technical projects in data, analytics, cloud, or digital transformation environments.
  • 10+ years managing data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing initiatives.
  • Proven experience delivering business intelligence, big data, and analytics projects.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and database technologies.
  • Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and financial reporting.
  • Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and managing complex project timelines.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and modern data systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting AI, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Healthcare industry experience.
  • Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, CCDA, or other healthcare data standards.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, enterprise architecture, and information management principles.
  • Experience working in regulated industries with security, compliance, and data governance requirements.
  • Additional certifications such as PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, TOGAF, Azure, AWS, or GCP are highly desirable.
  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Pay and Schedule

The salary for this position is $71 - 81 per hour, with work hours from 8am to 5pm.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree.
