Senior technical project manager

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join the ChargeAfter Technical Program Team as part of the Operations group. The TPM will coordinate, manage, drive, and execute partner and merchant client onboarding, integrations, and strategic integrations with banks and financial institutions. This role involves leading technical client/partner project plans to successfully integrate with ChargeAfter, working closely with Solution Engineers, Architects, R&D Engineers, E2E QA, Product, Operations, and Customer Success to facilitate technical solution brainstorming for high-volume products, including client-facing features and R&D programs.

Responsibilities

• Drive SDLC delivery of end-to-end client/partner integrations by creating comprehensive project delivery plans, operating rhythms, and execution strategies based on business requirements and solution proposals.
• Own overall project management, including internal (R&D) and external (client/partner) communication.
• Drive technical onboarding engagements across cross-functional teams within ChargeAfter.
• Collaborate with Product on quarterly planning to prioritize feature delivery based on business and product requirements.
• Apply professional services (RACI) and project management (Agile) methodologies, including metrics creation, risk, and dependency management for complex, multi-workstream efforts.
• Manage large collaborative efforts across strategic/enterprise-level partnership engagements.
• Work effectively in a global organization to onboard new enterprise partners and drive complex internal and external projects.
• Participate in and facilitate quarterly PI Planning.
• Inspire and influence others to solve problems and seize opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external C-level personnel.
• Serve as the technical point of contact (POC), plan, and facilitate technical programs.
• Collaborate in a dynamic and maturing business context.
• Balance decisions considering customer needs, financials, risk, compliance, and execution.
• Maintain strong competency in cross-functional interaction models and matrix organizations.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to achieve optimal solutions for both clients and the company.
• Implement new services and processes, and manage continuous improvement feedback.

Requirements

You have:

• 4+ years of experience in Technical Project Management or Professional Services, ideally in a high-paced delivery environment.
• Technical orientation, specifically in specifying and building automation with AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini).
• Experience with project management tools (ClickUp, Jira, Confluence, MS Project, etc.) to create Gantt charts and other visual representations of project status and timelines.
• Proven track record of successfully driving and delivering development and customization projects across different departments.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Experience working in global, multinational teams.

Qualifications (Advantage)

• Prior experience working in fintech, such as payment gateways, marketplaces, banks, or financial institutions.
• B.Sc./B.Cs. in Engineering or certification in a Project Management discipline (SAFe, Agile, PMP, Six Sigma).
• Ability to analyze strategic objectives and define specific tactical goals.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, PM tools, and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of Python scripting.

Pay

In accordance with New York City Local Law 32, the expected salary for this role is between $150,000–$170,000. This role may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or stock options.
