Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of technical programs from initiation to delivery.
  • Manage the R&D, NPI and manufacture activities to meet the customer target spec and delivery time schedule.
  • Define program scope, goals, success metrics, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Create and manage detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain cost models and drive organizations to improve them.
  • Interface with customers and lead such engagements, including presentations and issue resolution.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and milestones clearly to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and execution efficiency.

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in optical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or other opto-electronic discipline.
  • 15+ years in technical program management or product line management.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent formal and informal communications skills, including written and oral discussions.
  • Ability to function effectively in both technical and business environments.
  • Able to function in English. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • This position is on-site in Sunnyvale, CA.
  • May require occasional off-site meetings or travel.
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
  • Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job.
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues.
  • Safety Requirements: All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.
  • Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
