Senior Technical Enablement Architect

About the Role

Join Akamai's Enterprise Security Group (ESG) as a Senior Technical Enablement Architect. The ESG delivers advanced Zero Trust Security solutions tailored to modern threats, securing legacy, SaaS, and cloud environments using data insights, machine learning, and threat intelligence. This role focuses on accelerating revenue by enabling technical pre-sales teams to position and sell cutting-edge technology, including expanding capabilities in AI security.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous, clear updates to the technical pre-sales community on roadmap, product lifecycle, and key technical information.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Product Marketing to create and deliver impactful sales training and technical content.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for Sales Engineers, providing expert guidance on complex customer and prospect inquiries and RFI/RFP responses.
• Analyze feature requests, propose workarounds, and communicate field feedback to Product Management.
• Guide field teams in designing solutions for complex POCs and strategic deals, ensuring product alignment.
• Develop and maintain product demos in collaboration with Technical Marketing Engineering (TME) and SE teams to showcase the Akamai ESG portfolio.
• Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value narratives for senior and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in presales, sales engineering, solution architecture, product management, professional services, or customer success.
• Deep understanding of Zero Trust principles and products, including microsegmentation and SASE/SSE architectures, and broader cybersecurity technologies and market trends.
• Working knowledge of AI security, securing AI workloads, and AI-driven interactions (e.g., agentic AI, LLM usage patterns, AI governance).
• Solid knowledge of datacenter security technologies (servers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, endpoint security) and networking principles (TCP/IP, TLS/SSL).
• Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical product value.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud security concepts.

Pay

For US-based candidates, the base salary for this position ranges from $126,800 to $228,200 per year. Compensation is determined by relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location. Candidates outside the US will receive compensation that varies by region.
