About the role

The Senior Technical Designer for Suits / RTW is responsible for translating design vision into well-constructed and manufacturable garments that reflect brand aesthetics and integrity. This role involves conducting fit sessions, communicating fit results to vendors, global offices, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accuracy and alignment with production timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the product lifecycle from showrooms to pre-production fit approval
  • Oversee pre-production samples development to meet design specifications and quality standards
  • Create comprehensive technical packages and determine necessary corrections for achieving desired fit, silhouette, and style
  • Lead live fit sessions to evaluate and refine fit, construction, and quality
  • Execute fit comments in a timely manner to align with production timelines and objectives
  • Provide grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval and ensure accurate execution to preserve design and fit integrity across all sizes
  • Partner with Product Development, Design, and Production teams to ensure fit and development processes align with production timelines
  • Create and manage Work In Progress (WIP) reports for development tracking and garment delivery

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Technical Design experience, including woven dresses & blouses
  • College degree or equivalent professional work experience
  • Proven expertise in apparel fitting, specs, and patterns
  • Working knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills with critical attention to detail
  • Confident, engaging verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated to work in a high-energy environment with fast-paced priorities
  • Ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments and vendors

Pay

The pay range for this position is: $90,000 per year - $110,000 per year.
