Location: Los Angeles, California Job Type: Contract Compensation Range: $60 - 65 per hour We are seeking a Senior Designer specializing in VFX & Generative AI to join our in-house Creative Studio Production team. Operating at the intersection of design craft and emerging AI technology, you will produce high-quality visual content across product, lifestyle, social, web, and campaign formats. The ideal candidate pairs a classically grounded design foundation and photographic eye with hands-on mastery of GenAI tooling and post-production workflows to help build scalable, AI-assisted pipeline frameworks. Remote but must be local to Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities: Design Execution & Visual Quality: Produce production-ready visual assets across campaign and e-commerce channels. Apply deep knowledge of lighting, lensing, color grading, and product staging to ensure composited and AI-generated imagery looks authentic and brand-accurate.GenAI & Workflow Integration: Utilize tools (e.g., Weave, Gemini) to accelerate ideation and high-volume content generation. Build prompt strategies, reference frameworks, ControlNet integrations, and node-based workflows (e.g., ComfyUI) to establish repeatable, scalable generative pipelines.Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Partner with VFX, post-production, and creative teams on asset prep, render passes, and compositing handoffs. Support and coach Art Directors on AI-based workflows.Creative Problem Solving & Innovation: Rapidly test and evaluate emerging GenAI models, upscaling pipelines, and custom LoRA configurations. Implement ethical, compliant tools and practical solutions to improve efficiency and output consistency. Qualifications: Experience: 5+ years in a design role within a commercial post-facility, VFX studio, ad agency, or in-house creative studio (7+ years overall design experience preferred).Core Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma, with strong expertise in image compositing, multi-layer asset manipulation, and retouching.GenAI & Pipeline Mastery: Hands-on experience with GenAI tools at a production level, prompt engineering, and node-based AI environments (e.g., ComfyUI). Strong understanding of post-production/VFX pipelines and photography principles.Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or equivalent practical experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with 3D tools (Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini) or CG workflows.Familiarity with AI-assisted scripting/automation (Python or no-code tools).Track record of building design systems or automated production infrastructure.
