Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management, growth, and leadership of the Construction Engineering and Inspection Teams in South and West Texas
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to project administrators, and inspectors
- Provide project management and oversight as the CEI Senior Project Engineer for current and future projects within Texas
- Lead pursuits for CEI opportunities with local government and TxDOT
- Lead by example in Safety and Quality
- Manage budgets, personnel, schedules, sub consultants, and client interaction
- Support operations managers and practice leaders in business development and pursuit of construction engineering and inspection opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- 15+ years of experience in roadway design and managing projects for DOT and/or municipal projects, preferably in Texas
- Thorough knowledge of inspection methods and techniques, construction materials, methods, and equipment, trade processes and safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings, specifications and CPM schedules for projects
- Ability to assist in evaluation of contractor claims
- Knowledge and understanding of Texas Testing Methods
- Knowledge and practical understanding of the TxDOT Construction Project Administration Manual
- Strong technical ability and be able to provide guidance to technical staff with a commitment to quality
- TxDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic Completion of TxDOT Critical Structures Construction Issues Self Study course
