About the role
Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Senior Tax Staff Accountant with experience in entertainment business management to join our team. The Senior Tax Staff Accountant prepares and reviews various reports, prepares tax returns ranging from simple to moderately complex, and conducts tax projections and research. This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of the Nashville, TN office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns
- Review General Ledger and other reports to assist in preparation of tax projections
- Perform tax research and planning to solve client tax issues
- Handle correspondence regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax audits
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, tour reconciliations, etc.
- Assist with tour preparation and planning, including budgets and state, local and international tax clearances and reductions for touring artists
- Assist with business management tasks such as purchase and sale of real estate, royalty allocations, RMD schedules, international employment documents, etc.
- Provide informal supervision and training of Staff Accountant(s)
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
- Experience working with entertainment and high-net-worth individuals is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
- Familiarity with AgilLink is a plus
- Familiarity with CCH tax software is a plus
- CPA or CPA eligibility is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and soft skills (communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical thinking, etc.)
- Ability to learn new systems and process information quickly
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Pay
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $80,000 and $110,000. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, and the applicant’s skill set.
