Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filing for all legal entities (VAT/CIT/IIT/SD) on monthly, quarterly, and annual bases, including key-account reports per tax authority requests.
  • Assist with CIT Allocation ratio application (quarterly/annual).
  • Prepare tax journal entries (e.g., DTA, CIT) and tax bridge analysis during month-end closing.
  • Responsible for monthly tax forecast and annual tax plan.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation for tax-related accounts, ensuring reconciliation from accounting to tax filing and reporting any existing or potential issues.
  • Assist in withholding taxes and foreign exchange control compliance; manage forex payments.
  • Oversee Fapiao management.
  • Address tax authorities' queries, assessments, and audits.
  • Provide practical advice to internal business partners on financial and tax operational issues.
  • Support internal and external auditing teams and advisors as needed.
  • Prepare data collection and calculation for annual Transfer Pricing (TP) cycles (setup, adjustment review) and collaborate with tax agents to complete TP documentation.
  • Assist in transfer pricing method studies and reviews.
  • Maintain proactive communication and relationships with local government authorities.
  • Ensure paperwork and filing are up to date.
  • Drive process simplification and standardization of tax processes.
  • Support business operations by providing timely solutions for tax-related issues in new office openings or projects (e.g., tax invoices, ROW, and collection management).
  • Perform other assigned tax duties.
  • Review and manage full payroll calculation from payroll service providers.
  • Provide payroll reporting, data consolidation, verification, and reconciliation for internal and external parties, ensuring data quality and timely submission.
  • Collaborate with HR operations and payroll providers to implement payroll policies and resolve employee payroll inquiries within required timelines.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits, ensuring all necessary documents and approvals comply with internal controls.
  • Monitor payroll service vendors to ensure compliance with local social benefit policies, labor laws, and HK MPF enrollment/adjustment policies.
  • Handle ESOP tax calculations, including collecting release confirmations, preparing calculation forms, and liaising with payroll providers for filing.
  • Prepare quarterly reports to SAFE regarding ESOP implementation status (e.g., shares granted, sold, and account balances).
  • Provide annual ESOP applications to SAFE if required.
  • Assist in ESOP registration with tax bureaus, including record filing for grant and vest.
  • Support ESOP external audits and other operational processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or tax.
  • 5–10 years of qualified tax experience with tax firms or multinational corporations; experience in Service/Travel is a plus.
  • Tax or accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CTA, ACCA).
  • Strong tax, financial, and transfer pricing knowledge, with experience in tax accounting.
  • Fluent in oral and written English and Mandarin.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of efficiency, economics, and teamwork.
  • Comfortable working under pressure.
