About the role
The Senior Tax Manager, State and Local Tax will lead the tax compliance and planning efforts for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. This role requires a deep understanding of state and local tax laws and regulations, as well as strong leadership and project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of state and local tax returns for clients
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members
- Stay current with changes in state and local tax laws and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in state and local tax consulting or accounting
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Proven ability to manage complex tax issues and provide strategic advice to clients
- Experience working with large, multinational corporations
- Knowledge of tax software and systems
Skills
- Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
