Senior Tax Manager - Provisions
About the role
The position is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional looking to expand their experience within a large, global organization. The role is primarily responsible for the quarterly and annual global tax provision, global effective tax rate analysis, and related financial reporting disclosures.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual global income tax provision
- Manage consolidation of worldwide tax results, including U.S. and foreign entities
- Accuracy and validation of current and deferred tax calculations, as well as other areas of the global provision (UTP, VA, APB23, etc)
- Partner with FP&A and accounting to support earnings releases and financial reporting
- Review foreign tax packages and ensure consistency with U.S. GAAP requirements
- Collaborate with international tax to align provision impacts of global structuring
- Interpret and apply ASC 740 and other applicable accounting standards
- Maintain alignment between tax provision and income tax compliance outputs
- Monitor and implement impacts of tax law changes
- Manage requests from external auditors on income tax matters
- Prepare income tax footnotes and disclosures for financial statements
- Enhance and streamline provision processes and timelines
- Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting related to income taxes
- Drive improvements in tax provision technology and data management
- Provide guidance and oversight to tax team members supporting the provision process
- Mentor and develop staff to strengthen technical and analytical capabilities
- Foster collaboration across tax, accounting, and finance teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in tax, including ASC 740 / tax provision experience
- Big four public accounting experience or Fortune 500 multinational company experience desired
- Experience in a complex manufacturing industry is desired but not required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP income tax accounting and global tax reporting
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially Microsoft Excel
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Masters in Tax is a plus
- CPA is a positive, but not required
- Proven ability to manage complex processes and meet tight deadlines
- Experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision, Corptax) is a plus
- Working knowledge of various reporting systems (i.e., Hyperion, OneStream)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently
- High attention to detail and ownership mindset
