Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for the tax department or practice area
  • Serve as the final reviewer and subject matter expert for highly complex federal, state, local, and international tax returns (corporate, partnership, and individual)
  • Ensure strict compliance with applicable tax laws, GAAP/IFRS standards, and internal control policies
  • Develop and implement sophisticated tax planning strategies that minimize liabilities and maximize tax efficiency
  • Provide high-level advisory services to clients or senior management on complex transactions, restructurings, regulatory developments
  • Lead efforts in identifying new business opportunities, developing proposals, and expanding existing client relationships within the tax advisory space
  • Maintain direct involvement in tax preparation to support workload demands, deadlines, and quality control initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax compliance deliverables

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • CPA certification is mandatory for this leadership level role.
  • A master’s in taxation (MTax) is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8+ years of progressive tax experience, with significant time spent in management or supervisory capacity, ideally within a large public accounting firm or a corporate tax department of a large multinational company.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with a proven ability to develop, motivate, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Deep expertise in tax law and reporting requirements.
  • Strong proficiency with enterprise level tax technology platforms such as (CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, SAP Tax) and advanced data analysis tools.

  • Exceptional leadership abilities with strong presentation, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated sound business judgment, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a proven ability to manage profitable engagements or departmental operations.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to high value clients and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Pay

Base salary of $120,000–$155,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience).
