About the role

The Senior Tax Compliance Representative (STCR) Specialist independently performs the most complex, difficult, and sensitive compliance assignments using a high degree of judgment and extensive knowledge of the California Unemployment Insurance code (CUIC), statutes, regulations, and compliance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Independently coordinate TPS reviews including working with the TPS reviewer in making objective assessments regarding the quality of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax operations.
  • Develop tracking systems which assess and report on the Division's achievements and provide tools to plan and direct the Division's strategic goals.
  • Track, analyze, and assess the Division's performance as an organization in order to better serve the employer community.
  • Identify areas within the Division where technical training is needed as well as develop and facilitate the necessary training.
  • Act as a project leader or Single Point of Contact for Division-wide, sensitive projects, task forces related to the development, evaluation, or implementation of tax specific programs and policies.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably in the Unemployment Insurance (UI) program.
  • Strong knowledge of the California Unemployment Insurance code (CUIC), statutes, regulations, and compliance procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Tax Performance System (TPS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

$6,646.00 - $8,324.00
