Senior Tax Associate - Tax Compliance
Responsibilities
- Prepare Federal and state corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
- Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal, state, and international tax topics
- Perform a variety of tax consulting projects such as permanent establishment analyses and nexus studies
- Aid with the preparation of income tax provisions for corporate taxpayers under ASC 740
- Provide timely and high-quality services and deliverables that exceed client expectations
- Maintain active communication to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction
- Prepare clear, concise workpapers and other communications
- Effectively delegate and oversee the work efforts by setting goals, providing resources and removing obstacles
- Provide timely training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates
- Team with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development opportunities
Requirements

Qualifications
3-4 years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting
A BA/BS degree in Accounting or Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English
Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Positive team player attitude
Skills
CPA license or similar certification is preferred, but not required
German writing and communication skills are an advantage, but not required
Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry
CCH Axcess Tax experience

About the Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our practice in Birmingham, Alabama.
You will work with a select team providing tax compliance services to predominantly manufacturing and distribution clients.
You must be able to manage projects, work under time pressures, multitask, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
The right candidate will be organized, proactive and results-oriented.
Office/Workplace Locations: The preferred candidate is local to the Birmingham office on-site. However, qualified candidates local to the Austin, Texas area will also be considered to support the Birmingham team on a remote basis.
