Senior Tax Associate

About the role

Prosperity Partners is a Chicago-based public accounting firm offering tax, accounting, and personal finance services. We are seeking an energetic tax professional to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

• Support the firm’s practice by providing tax preparation and consulting services to clients.
• Prepare workpapers and research complex tax issues.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax matters.
• Work in a deadline-driven environment with demanding clients.

Requirements

• A strong work ethic and exceptional leadership qualities.
• At least three years of public accounting experience.
• Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• An accounting degree from an accredited four-year university.
• CPA designation or progress towards passing the exam.
• Experience preparing tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Corporations, and Trusts.
• Proven understanding of complex accounting entries.
• Self-management, assignment prioritization, and client interaction skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complicated matters to clients or government agencies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
• An enthusiasm for technical topics and a willingness to learn through research, continuing professional education (CPE), and discussions with peers.
• A positive attitude and respect for others.
• A self-motivated individual who seeks new projects and recognizes their own strengths and weaknesses.
• The availability to work in the office at least three days per week.
