About the role

Prosperity Partners is a Chicago-based public accounting firm providing tax, accounting, and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. We are seeking an energetic tax professional to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the firm’s practice by providing tax preparation and consulting services to clients.
  • Prepare workpapers and research complex tax issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
  • Work in a deadline-driven environment with demanding clients.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years' public accounting experience.
  • A strong work ethic and exceptional leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Accounting degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • CPA designation or progress towards passing the exam.
  • Experience preparing tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Corporations, and Trusts.
  • Proven understanding of complex accounting entries.
  • Self-management, prioritization of assignments, and client interaction skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complicated matters to clients or government agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
  • An enthusiasm for technical topics and a willingness to learn through research, continuing professional education (CPE), and discussions with peers.
  • A positive attitude and a respectful work environment.
  • A self-motivated individual who seeks new projects and recognizes their own strengths and weaknesses.
  • The availability to work in the office at least 3 days per week.

  • Proven success in a tax-focused position.
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritize assignments, and interface with clients.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to communicate complicated matters to clients or government agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and to multi-task.
  • An enthusiasm for technical topics and interested in learning opportunities via research, CPE, and discussions with peers.
  • Contributes to an established culture of positivity and respect.
  • A self-motivated to seek new projects.
  • Recognizes strengths and weaknesses and appreciates peer feedback.
  • The availability to work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Skills

  • Technical proficiency in tax law and accounting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of tax software and tools.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $90,000 USD - $120,000 USD.

Schedule

Three days per week in-office work schedule.
