About the role
Spectrum’s Corporate Tax team seeks a Senior Tax Accountant who is passionate about technology and eager to drive innovation. The role involves preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax compliance for multiple entities, analyzing tax laws affecting compliance, acquisitions, and more, and providing insights for valuations, financings, and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Accumulate, analyze, and process financial accounting data in order to prepare tax returns
- Prepare and review tax returns and associated work papers
- Research, interpret, and apply tax laws and regulations that impact federal and state compliance, as well as other corporate and partnership taxation matters
- Analyze and evaluate the tax implications of potential investments, acquisitions, divestitures, or other transactions in alignment with the organization's objectives
- Coincide and communicate with members of the tax and accounting departments
- Compile executive reporting for tax purposes as required
- Assist with FAS 109 calculations and conducting FIN 48 analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Experience in business tax return preparation and review and related research
- Advanced degree such as master’s degree in Accounting with concentration in Tax
- CPA certification
- Big 4 public accounting experience
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) and superior Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of tax return preparation software
- Ability to research and resolve technical tax issues
- Knowledge of accounting theory and financial statement presentation
- Ability to effectively perform as part of a team committed to common objectives
- Ability to adapt to unexpected or changing conditions and help others deal effectively with new situations
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and manage multiple projects on deadline
Skills
