Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Develop tax strategies and policies that help the company improve its financial efficiency, reduce tax liability, and meet compliance requirements.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay updated on changes that can affect the company's tax filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accurate tax reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as needed, providing necessary information and addressing any issues or queries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax documents and records for the company.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Provide guidance and training to junior tax accountants and other staff on tax-related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax returns.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and databases, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations, and apply them to company operations.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax information to non-accounting staff and stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
