Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are a local full service CPA with offices around the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids area and are looking to grow our tax team. In business over 75 years!

Responsibilities

• Works with the tax team to prepare and learn to review tax returns
• Handles routine client tax questions, and works with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance
• Completes research and other special assignments/tasks as needed
• Recognizes and informs senior management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clients
• Sets up professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriate
• Stays informed about firm capabilities other than tax compliance area, and promotes these activities to clients when appropriate

Requirements

• 6+ years in public accounting with an emphasis in taxation
• 2+ years experience with tax review
• Experienced with both individual and business tax
• CPA license or Enrolled Agent
• B.S. in Accounting or related degree
• Masters in Taxation strongly preferred
