Senior Target Security Specialist - Regional Distribution Center - Amsterdam, NY
Pay range per hour: $20.82 - $37.45. Additional compensation may include a shift differential of $2.00 to $3.50 per hour based on eligibility. Pay is determined by factors such as labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role
A role in Supply Chain Asset Protection involves keeping team members, visitors, and the brand safe and secure while leading through crisis events. You will protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and fraud to ensure product availability for guests.
As a Senior Target Security Specialist (STSS), you will:
- Lead a physical security and safety culture at a Target supply chain facility through best practices and program management
- Execute routines to identify, prevent, and investigate theft and shortage using technology, partnerships, reporting, and security tactics
- Operate Target-owned vehicles for yard and perimeter patrols
- Lead or support projects contributing to enterprise-wide asset protection initiatives
- Execute emergency procedures and protocols, including incident notification to leadership
- Support onboarding of new Asset Protection team members
- Review and update routine documentation as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and remain calm during crisis situations
- Proven ability to work with highly confidential information
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Possess or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
- Meet state or local licensure and other requirements related to the position
- Ability to prioritize tasks and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements during patrols
- Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 60 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to be trained on and safely operate powered equipment (e.g., Pallet Rider, Scissor Lift, Sit Down & Standup Forklift) and work at heights up to 40 feet
- Ability to operate technology systems with minimal direction after training
- Ability to properly document cases using industry case management systems
- Reliable and prompt attendance
Qualifications
- Prior experience in loss prevention, shortage mitigation, security, or similar roles preferred but not required
- Ability to be trained and act on de-escalation tactics
- Ability to safely conduct internal and external patrols frequently throughout your shift
- Ability to quickly and safely respond to security incidents in all property locations, including stairwells, rooftops, truck yards, mezzanines, automation/technology areas, and trailers
