EngineeringFull-time

About the role

NVIDIA is hiring a Deep Learning Engineer with strong experience in generative AI, LLMs/VLMs, computer vision, and agentic systems. The team blends engineers and scientists, emphasizing rigor, rapid iteration, and ownership in a collaborative, low‑ego culture.

Responsibilities

  • Convert research into real products, moving beyond slide decks or notebooks.
  • Build workflows that diversify datasets and/or populate data.
  • Ship machine‑learning workflows and pipelines quickly, iterating at speed.
  • Leverage LLM/VLM and agents in the data generation pipeline.
  • Define evaluation criteria and run offline evaluations before any model or prompt change reaches production.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience); PhD preferred, in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Solid mathematical and algorithmic foundation demonstrated through research publications, internships, or significant projects.
  • Strong background in computer vision and deep learning.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and C/C++.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to develop code in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills for presenting performance challenges, trade‑offs, and architectural alternatives.
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with other teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience designing and operating multi‑agent pipelines in production, including handling non‑deterministic failures, retry logic, and tool‑call error recovery.
  • Shipped a product feature backed by a VLM (e.g., image captioning, document understanding), handling inference latency, cost‑per‑call trade‑offs, and degraded‑mode fallbacks.
  • Delivered AI‑powered features to real users, not just prototypes built with agent frameworks.

Pay

Base salary is determined by location, experience, and comparable employee pay. The range is $152,000 – $241,500 USD for Level 3 and $184,000 – $287,500 USD for Level 4. Equity and additional benefits are also offered.

Benefits

Eligibility for equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
