Senior Systems Software Engineer – GPU Software

About the role

NVIDIA is seeking a creative and highly motivated engineer with expertise in systems software to join the GPU Software team. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and verifying features for the next generation GPU driver architecture, collaborating with hardware engineers and fellow software engineers, and identifying and solving performance bottlenecks in various markets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and verify features for our next generation GPU driver architecture
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers and fellow software engineers
  • Identify and solve performance bottlenecks in our driver, including in markets of scale like datacenter and gaming markets
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with teams from all around the globe

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of relevant software development experience
  • Proven leadership skills and strong ownership of past projects
  • Hands-on technical experience and demonstrated excellence in complex software and hardware designs
  • Exceptional C programming and low-level driver experience; background and strength with complex system-level debugging
  • Kernel experience with Linux, Android, Chrome, or Windows systems
  • Familiarity and comfort with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Experience as a maintainer or contributor to large open source software projects
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms (XenServer, KVM, Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with kernel level security concepts; testing techniques and a familiarity with static code analysis, dynamic analysis, fuzzing, negative testing and other techniques
  • Experience with embedded system SW concepts, e.g.: RTOS and overlay programming models

Skills

  • Exceptional C programming and low-level driver experience
  • Kernel experience with Linux, Android, Chrome, or Windows systems
  • Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.)

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $184,000 to $287,500 for Level 4, and $224,000 to $356,500 for Level 5
  • Eligibility for equity and benefits

Pay

  • Base salary range: $184,000 - $287,500 for Level 4, and $224,000 - $356,500 for Level 5

Schedule

  • Full-time position
