Senior Systems Engineer-Test

You’ll join the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area, supporting development efforts in our Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Missile Seeker program.
This role requires a combination of direct experience developing both hardware and software Test Solutions in the Electro-Optical/Infrared domain. The candidate must understand lab environment testing concepts and integration of systems, sub-assemblies, and components. A strong background in ‘C’ code software development for PC-based test and measurement applications, along with recent experience, is essential. Familiarity with Electrical Engineering hardware interfacing and electromechanical Test Systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities
- Develop hardware and software test solutions for Electro-Optical/Infrared systems.
- Integrate systems, sub-assemblies, and components in a lab environment.
- Design and implement PC-based test and measurement applications using ‘C’ code.
- Interface with commercial instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, and lasers.
- Perform advanced circuit analysis to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost-effective systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical presentations and white papers.
- Lead test events and support external and internal presentations.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen who has or can obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 4 years of applicable experience.
- Experience with high-performance data acquisition and control applications.
- Proficiency with communication protocols such as Ethernet TCP/IP, Telnet, RS-485, HotLink, IEEE-488, and USB.
- Background in Electrical Engineering and experience interfacing with commercial instrumentation.
- Experience in one or more software languages: ANSI C, NI CVI, C++, C#, MATLAB.
- Advanced circuit analysis skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating and upgrading test equipment for production use.
- Background in Electro-Optical/Infrared Sensor systems, modeling, test, and diagnostics for active and passive system solutions.
- Experience with ingesting and post-processing datasets into Oracle or similar databases.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $97,008 - $164,914. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
